The Book Blogger Test

by - 7:49 AM

I got tagged by Stacie from Book Galore. Thanks, lovely. I've been meaning to do this ever since she tagged me, but I was busy last month (til now but :p). So let's get down to it......

What are your top three book pet hates?

  • Lines on the spine
  • Folded pages
  • Possessive and abusive relationship ><
Describe your perfect reading spot.
  • Cuddled on my bed. I love reading on my bed more than on couches. I lie on my stomach and read, then that's where the real world fades in perspective. But I also love reading while I am on our univ's rooftop especially during October-Decemeber where it's chilly.
Tell us three book confessions.
  • I haven't read the Harry Potter series.
  • I usually recoil from angsty ya contemporary. I am more of fluffy and light romance set in higschool or summer. /o\
  • I didn't cry when I read The Fault in our Stars. I actually ~dislike~ it.
When was the last time you cried during a book?
  • Champion by Marie Lu made me bawl like a baby. The ending was so brilliant and gripping. I haven't cried over a book this year *gasps* :O Recommend me tearjerker books please ;)
How many books are on your bedside table?
  • There are two books on it right now: my calculus book & city of heavenly fire.
What is your favorite snack while you’re reading?
  • I rarely eat when I read because I tend to be clumsy and smudge the pages when I turn them and also I can't concentrate on the texts because all I can think of is the food I am chewing.
  • When I read in the mall or in school during wee hours, I always have a milk tea to drink. It is a MUST.
Name three books you would recommend to everyone.
  • Legend series (yeah i know cheating again :p) by Marie Lu
  • Lovely Vicious by Sara Wolf (underrated book! why only a few have read this? come on guys, this book is nothing but a m a z e b a l l s.
  • Angelfall by Susan Ee (one of the best heroines in YA, eccentric plot & a burning romantic chemistry)
Show us a picture of your favorite bookshelf on your bookcase.
hashtag "I can never take a decent bookshelf photo"

Write how much books mean to you in just three words.
My sanctuary & refuge. (I actually cheated but never mind & haha)

What is your biggest reading secret?
  • I often reread books than start reading new books. It's my reading habit that I love yet bothered me the most. That is why I don't look at my TBR list anymore because I know I'll facepalm myself because it never dwindles. :p
Tagging:
Maia over Obviously Reading
Yana over Paper Boulevard
Samena over Just a Little Book Addict
Anyone who's interested to this consider yourself tagged by me ;)

On the other note: A new desiiiiiign! I kinda revamped it again because I am never contented when it comes to blog designs. I enjoyed it though, usually revamping makes me want to smash my head on the monitor, but everything was fine and enjoyable while doing this. Tried pastel violet and blue (pink&yellow as minor colors) for the color palette. What do you guys think? Anything to improve? Colors? Header? Font? Widgets? The header is still under renovation because I, myself, gets headache when I stare at it *n* HA ha. Your opinions are greatly appreciated!

  1. Cracked spines make me so sad. D: Abusive/toxic relationships make me rage! I have only read the first three HP books and enjoyed them, but the next books are so big! Haha! LOL at TFiOS. I did cry, but it was pretty overrated. I'm hoping the movie will blow me away, though. Champion! SO MANY TEARS, GIRL. I've managed to force 5 friends to read Legend already! Weeee! <33 Angelfall was boring for me, though. :P Love Legend & The Heroes of Olympus on your favorites shelf. <3 LOL, I totally get the feeling of my TBR pile never shrinking, although I hardly ever reread. ;P

  4. I kind of want to shout at you to read Harry Potter, haha. THANK YOU!!! I did a whole blog post once on how fed up I am with books that promote unhealthy and abusive relationships that women then go and swoon over. IT'S INFURIATING >.< Great shelf btw, I find shelf pics hard to take too. I got tagged twice ages ago, just need to find the time to get to it.

Tearjerker books: We Were Liars by E. Lockhart, Noughts & Crosses by Malorie Blackman, Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma are just a few that had me crying.

I like the new design, it works very well! :)

  6. firstly, you are welcome :)

secondly, you haven't read Harry Potter and didn't like The Fault in Our Stars? :O. Very very shocked. Not about TFIOS, I guess its not for everyone even though you are about the only person I know who didn't like it haha, I'm shocked about Harry Potter.

Get reading it miss, you don't know what your missing out on :P

Glad you enjoyed doing this because I've got another personal one soon to do that you'll be tageed in, also love the new design, its so pretty :P.

  7. I also hate seeing lines on the spine and folded pages. That's why I always remind my borrowers to take care of the book. I even show them how to open the book to avoid the lines. And I always put a bookmark in each book just incase they don't have one.

I didn't cry when I read The Fault in our Stars. I actually ~dislike~ it. - I thought I was the only one... I didn't dislike it but it doesn't have a big impact to me.

I also re-read books especially if the series is about to end. For example, if the third book will come out next month. I make sure that I re-read the first two book otherwise, it might affect my reading on the third book.

PS: I hope you can read Harry Potter soon.

  8. Ick, ick, ick! Cracked spines are the absolute WORST. I can handle them on secondhand books, though, because I take comfort in the fact that *I* wasn't the one who made them, haha.
YAY for all the mentions of Legend! Champion is one of only about five books in my life to have ever made me cry and that's because of DAY!
We should totally make an official Daniel Altan Wing Fan Club ^.^
