Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout

Published Date: Feb 4, 2014

Synopsis:
Teresa Hamilton is having a rough year—she’s in love with her big brother’s best friend, but he hasn’t spoken to her since they shared a truly amazing, mind-blowing, change-your-life kiss. She got out of a terrible relationship. And now an injury is threatening to end her dance career for good. It’s time for Plan B – college. And maybe a chance to convince Jase that what they have together is real.

Jase Winstead has a huge secret that he’s not telling anyone. Especially not his best friend’s incredibly beautiful sister. Even though he and Teresa shared the hottest kiss of his life, he knows that his responsibilities must take priority. He certainly doesn’t have time for a relationship. But it doesn’t help that all he can think about kissing the one girl who could ruin everything for him.

As they’re thrown together more and more, Jase and Tess can’t keep denying their feelings for each other. But a familiar danger looms and tragedy strikes. As the campus recovers, the star-crossed couple must decide what they’re willing to risk to be together, and what they’re willing to lose if they’re not…

SQUEEEE a story about Tess and Jase. JASE. JASE. So hold up, did I like this book? Yes. Is it better than the first book (Cam & Avery)? Somewhat yes. How about the steamy and toe-curling scenes? *fans self* What about the secrets & plot twists? I was MIND BLOWN. How about the emotion the book reeked? I FELT IT just fine. Did it hurt? YES. Did you have some eye rolls? HAHA yes. Few. Ahhhhh. Female protagonist? She was okay, but not totally lovable. And the male? EHH HE CONFUSED ME BUT JASE J A S E. Anymore coherent comment?

That was fun! Anyway, it's been a while since I touched this blog. Haven't been on for a while, but I do read books from time to time. I am sort of back. Just sort of. I am afraid that I am going to fail my subjects this term. Grrrr. Must focus more.Wish me luck! :D

In this book, we have Tess & Jase who shared an unforgettable kiss of the century that haunted them ever since (in a good way.) But the thing is, Jase is keeping a confidential secret that might just ruin everything. I pretty much suck over synopsis meh.

Jennifer Armentrout never fails  to write a story that involves intense emotion and raging hormones. When will I ever read a book that has less innuendo, dirty talk and the-you-know-scene? HAHA I really don't mind what she's writing because she's really good at it, but I think there's more!

As you read my self-interviewed responses, I pretty much like this book with some peeves that I think we can talk about later. First, I was just glad that Jase took the limelight. I mean, I really liked him ever since Cam and Avery's story, but I liked him more on this book. Although he frustrated me with his push and pull decision over relationship, and he also made me rolled my eyes for like three times (that's bad news Jase!) I liked how he man up in the ending. He's caring, sweet, hot, gorgeous, and he loves so wholly. Teressa on the other hand is another mediocre female protagonist common on NA books. She's strong, determined, I can give you that, but there's just no striking about her character. Not even her introspection can make up for that empty space between me and her character. She gained a few grin from me because 1) Her passion for dancing 2) She makes some snarky and funny retorts.

Plot-wise, I thought that this will just end up like any other cliche NA book, but what surprised me was the infliction of reality. The unnerving reality of having a child at a young age was tackled here and I am surprise how Jlynn handled the issue. Also, there's the touch of abusive partners in the story. I was beyond horrified to read that particular scene where Debbie is um yeah. :( It's just real appalling that girls have to go through such abusive partners who in a second they are treated like a princes and in a heartbeat, they are treated like a trash. I abhor that reality and I commend Jlynn again for taking the issue on a lighter and more comprehensible  writing.

Ending can be both a bummer, and a *told you so.* I really don't want to talk about it since it's toO spoilery, but I guess you have the slightest idea that the ending was both gripping yet disappointing. EH ABBY MAKE UP YOUR MIND. I am sorry, I can't. And I can't believe I am talking to myself right now over the internet.

That's all for now!
