Fangirl
Author: Rainbow Rowell
Publish Date: 2013
Genre: YA, chic-lit, contemporary, romance
Rating: ★★★★

Synopsis:
In Rainbow Rowell's Fangirl, Cath is a Simon Snow fan. Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan, but for Cath, being a fan is her life—and she’s really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it’s what got them through their mother leaving.

Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fan fiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere.

Cath’s sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can’t let go. She doesn’t want to.

Now that they’re going to college, Wren has told Cath she doesn’t want to be roommates. Cath is on her own, completely outside of her comfort zone. She’s got a surly roommate with a charming, always-around boyfriend, a fiction-writing professor who thinks fan fiction is the end of the civilized world, a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words . . . And she can’t stop worrying about her dad, who’s loving and fragile and has never really been alone.

For Cath, the question is: Can she do this? Can she make it without Wren holding her hand? Is she ready to start living her own life? And does she even want to move on if it means leaving Simon Snow behind?

Review:

"What the fuck is 'the fandom'?"

"You wouldn't understand," Cath sighed, wishing she hadn't used that word, knowing that if she tried to explain herself any further, it would just make it worse.

☆ ☆ 4.5 stars ☆ ☆

What makes this book standout above all fiction books? It's achingly realistic. One thing that made me yearn for this was the fact that the title describes me the most.Fangirl. I am a fangirl. This story is close to my heart. Too close.

The story was a little bit confusing at first because of the change in stories. One second it is on Cath's story and then another second it is about Simon Snow, Baz and all the magical creatures I am not familiar of, but I got used to it as pages dragged by. One thing I am sure of, Simon Snow is Harry Potter and the story of Simon Snow is the Harry Potter series. I loved every page of this book. I loved how everything turns out the way it should have.

Cath. I can see myself in her. Not 100% alike but atleast 75% yes. She is a fangirl (wait not just a fangirl, it will always be more than just a "fangirl"), reader, fanfic writer, socially awkward and "i-am-too-stubborn-so-please-leave-me-alone type of teenager. She is more of I rather read or write or maybe lock myself inside the room 24/7 than to hang out and party my ass out with people and that is exactly why I love her. She is a tad melodramatic and stubborn that irks me, but I'am cool with that.

"I can't believe Abel told me this girl's ACT score," she said. "What am I supposed to do with that? Offer her a scholarship?"

Levi. He wasn't describe as a total hottie with six pack abs and a sex appeal to kill for, but she is the right kind of realistic guy that I want in my life. He keeps on smiling and smiling and smiling and too nice around people. There's a subtle line between being nice and being flirty (that's what Cath thought). He was perfectly flawed. I want him. I want a guy like him. Toothy grin. Lazy guy. Stupid at times. Flirty demeanor that will make a goo out of anyone. He's just so realistic and sweet it actually hurts my soul.

"You look so blindingly cute right now, I feel like I need to make a pinhole in a piece of paper just to look at you."

Secondary characters like Wren, Reagan & Cath's dad are the exact characters I've dreamed of. They were exceptionally rude and funny and bland and flawed and cool. Just cool! Too cool. I loved the family relation of Cath-their dad-Wren. I also like Reagan and her fuck off, i dont care about you, oh please you suck, you are so stupid it hurts my cells attitude. She is the kind of bestfriend slash roomate i want. The development between Reagan and Cath 's relationship was lucid and extremely funny. They are polar opposite. Total opposite. It's just impressive how they deal with each other and became cool friends. Atleast that's what I thought.

"I feel sorry for you, and I'm going to be your friend."

"I don't want to be your friend," Cath said as sternly as she could. "I like that we're not friends."

"Me, too. I'm sorry you ruined it by being so pathetic."

Levi and Cath. Nuff with them. I am squeaaaaaaling. They are so cute. Fluffy. Steamy. Fluffy and steamy at the same time. Do I make sense? They have their own worlds and I like it that they are lost on their own world. Just the two of them.

This book also made me realize how writers were developed and mend to be enduring and firm. They are sharpened by writer's block, fixed by 'almost giving up' and changed by 'I write because this is what makes me happy. I am free when I write. I am lost when I write' It was so touching. I can feel Cath's grieve whenever she can't find out the right story to write or words to fill in.

I almost cried when they were on the part of receiving the last book of their favorite series. That scene was the best. It was gripping and consuming. I felt that too when The Last Battle, Clockwork Princess, The Last Olympian, and other last books from my favorite series were released. Heart-breaking but at the same time heart-warming and asfdghjkjhgfdsdfgh.

Totally worth reading and recommending.

Pivot Point
Author: Kasie West
Publish date: 2013
Genre: ya, sci-fi, fantasy
Rating: ★★★★★

Synopsis:
Addison Coleman’s life is one big “What if?” As a Searcher, whenever Addie is faced with a choice, she can look into the future and see both outcomes. It’s the ultimate insurance plan against disaster. Or so she thought. When Addie’s parents ambush her with the news of their divorce, she has to pick who she wants to live with—her father, who is leaving the paranormal compound to live among the “Norms,” or her mother, who is staying in the life Addie has always known. Addie loves her life just as it is, so her answer should be easy. One Search six weeks into the future proves it’s not.
In one potential future, Addie is adjusting to life outside the Compound as the new girl in a Norm high school where she meets Trevor, a cute, sensitive artist who understands her. In the other path, Addie is being pursued by the hottest guy in school—but she never wanted to be a quarterback’s girlfriend. When Addie’s father is asked to consult on a murder in the Compound, she’s unwittingly drawn into a dangerous game that threatens everything she holds dear. With love and loss in both lives, it all comes down to which reality she’s willing to live through . . . and who she can’t live without.

Review:
On the paper, I write: I promised someone I care about very much that I wouldn't Erase this path, but I have to. On Friday morning, the fourteenth of November, however, after certain events occur, talk to Laila about advanced ability control. Tell her she can learn how to restore memories. This is the only way I know how to keep my promise to you
Kasie West now belongs to the "Promising Authors that will hit big" yeah that's my non-existent list. And I believe Kasie clearly belongs to that list now, especially that both her published books, The Distance Between Us and Pivot Point, made a great impact on me, and majority of the readers who had read her debut novels.

Welcome to the PARA-NORM-al life of Addieson Coleman, or, Addie.
There's this Paranormal Compound secluded from the NORMS or NORMAL where teenagers, adults with supernatural powers such as telekinesis, emotion shifter, memory-eraser, divergence and other sorts of power you can imagine dwell in. In this world, Addie is a SEARCHER. She can search through the future whenever she is tasked to weigh options. So when her parents decided to separate ways aka divorce, she is opted to choose whether to stay with her mom in the Compound or leave the Compound with her dad and live in the Norms. She used her ability to see within the range of 6 weeks the possible events that will happen in the two paths. (I suck at summarizing sorry)

This is a paranormal/sci-fi novel and I have to admit that I haven't read much sci-fi novels, but then this novel surprised me. It is well-written, well-plotted and well-narrated. ALL THE WELL. We get to see two alternating future events in the life of Addie which is very amazing and unique. I haven't read ANY book with a plot like this, so this came overwhelming me. Very creative.

I have no complain with the characters, they have their own personalities which I find myself caving in. The cryptic character of the antagonist definitely caught me off guard. The secondary character like, Laila (Addie's bff), is so realistic. Definitely the bestfriend material everyone is begging for. I like to also punctuate the involvement of Addie's parents in her story, unlike in other books, where the parents just come IN-OUT. Addie is the girl character that isn't hard to like. She is witty and cool. Her unwavering love for books made me like her more. The decision she made at the end was understandable, but also ACHINGLY PAINFUL. TOO PAINFUL. JUST. PAIN.

The romance that lingered here is also amazing and heart-warming. I never had the charm to Duke, but he is hotilicious. (LAILA's term LOL) I wasn't affected by "from smug to sweet" character cause I know he isn't good enough for Adddie.
“Our relationship feels different. Like someone has taken my favorite sweater and thrown it in the dryer and it doesn't fit right anymore. I want to pull and tug on it until it feels comfortable again.”
No spark. None. Although some scenes with Duke made my heart and stomach burst warm, it isn't enough to match up the TOE CURLING FEELING I get from TREVOR. TREVOR. TREVOR. Trevor okay, Trevor. I JUST CANT INCORPORATE IN WORDS MY FEELS FOR HIM. Sigh. Perfect Trevor is perfect.

The ending, oh my god the cliffhanger ending.
"I'm fine. I'll be fine. Yes, I want to go home with you, Dad"
HOME MEANS NORMAL WORLD, NORMAL WORLD MEANS TREVOR

My only complain is that every chapter left me CRAVING so much. Sometimes I just want to live the NORM path search of Addie. It's more fun there. (biased much) HAHAHAHA. The twists and the thriller climax were definitely the mood changer and jaw-slacking part.
Oveall, this is one of the best YA paranormal story ever existed! I can't wait for Split Second. Holy hell, I'll have to wait for a year. I'm going to cry.

Throne of Glass
Author: Sarah Maas
Publish Date: 2012
Genre: YA, paranormal, fantasy, supernatural
Rating: ★★★★★

Synopsis:
After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin. Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king's council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she'll serve the kingdom for three years and then be granted her freedom.
Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilirating. But she's bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her... but it's the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.
Then one of the other contestants turns up dead... quickly followed by another.
Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined.

Review:
First of all, let me just commend the author, Sarah Maas, for creating a new wonderful world for readers to dwell in. And I would like to commend her 10 years research regarding everything written on this book.

The world's most notorious assassin is tasked by the Crown Prince to join the King's competition. Out of her desperation for freedom, 18 year old assasin, Celaena Sardothien, took the risk and traveled down to Ardalan leaving the prison salt mine of Endovier. In the throne of glass she was trained by the captain of guards, Chaol, to beat the other assasins, thieves and royal warriors. It's simple, win the tournament, be the King's Champion, be the Ardalan's assassin for four years and freedom atlast.

I really have a thing for badass girl main characters. I've had enough with fluffy, full of cutesy and annoying main characters. On the other hand, this assassin isnt just badass, she's also gifted with witty personality and feminine gene. She's vulnerable when it comes to falling inlove but she's not the kind of easily giving up. Obstinate badass assassin. It was thrilling reading this book because of a new wonderful world the author created for the readers to dwell in. I didn't had a difficulty getting myself into this book, each pages unfolds interesting and mind-blowing events.

The story has its creepy side especially the mystery on the other Champions' wanton deaths. Some events, encounters and dialogues gave me chills, gooesebumps and shiver. I mean it's just literally creepy!!! And that's why I liked it more more more more.. On the latter, there's also a pinch of romance in this story which added fuel to the fire of my desire to fully engross reading this.

Prince Dorian, oh what a worth swooning prince. Unlike his father, he is very kind hearten and solicitous among his country men as well a other country men. He is that prince who doesn't believe that marriage is just a show-off so that your wife will bear a heir to the crown. He believes that marrying is a very sacred sacrament. He reasoned out that only love can bind two people to engage themselves in a marriage *swwwwoonn*
He held her hand over the board and smoothly flattened their palms against each other, interlocking his fingers with hers. His hand was calloused but sturdy. Their entwined hands rested on the side of the table.

"One needs both hands to play chess," she said, wondering if it were possible for her heart to explode. Fleetfoot huffed and trotted away, probably to disappear under the bed.
"I think you only need one." He moved a piece all over the board. "See?"
Oh dear Captain of the Guards, Chaol, I kinda rooted for him for Celaena especially from the first pages of the book. He was the cold-hearted one that remained stern but slowly melting because of Celaena. I feel like he has this burning passion towards Celaena but he doesn't let love meddle with his duties. /pats u/ I'm just praying that this is not love triangle!! I beg you author!!

Finally, the villains! May they rot in inferno. *SIDE EYES* Perrington! This asshole is the epitome of sonofabitch. And let's add to the list Cain. He was hot as I imagined but he has a rotting wits and demeanor.

I love all the characters even the villains because they contributed to the whole perfection of the book. I'm really excited for the second book which comes this 2013!!! Crown of Midnight

The Distance Between Us
Author: Kasie West
Publish Date: 2013
Genre: romance, chic-lit, contemporary, ya
Rating: ★★★★
Synopsis:

Seventeen-year-old Caymen Meyers studies the rich like her own personal science experiment, and after years of observation she’s pretty sure they’re only good for one thing—spending money on useless stuff, like the porcelain dolls in her mother’s shop.
So when Xander Spence walks into the store to pick up a doll for his grandmother, it only takes one glance for Caymen to figure out he’s oozing rich. Despite his charming ways and that he’s one of the first people who actually gets her, she’s smart enough to know his interest won’t last. Because if there’s one thing she’s learned from her mother’s warnings, it’s that the rich have a short attention span. But Xander keeps coming around, despite her best efforts to scare him off. And much to her dismay, she's beginning to enjoy his company.
She knows her mom can’t find out—she wouldn’t approve. She’d much rather Caymen hang out with the local rocker who hasn’t been raised by money. But just when Xander’s attention and loyalty are about to convince Caymen that being rich isn’t a character flaw, she finds out that money is a much bigger part of their relationship than she’d ever realized. And that Xander’s not the only one she should’ve been worried about.

Review:
"Feelings can be the most costly thing in the universe"
Honestly, this book now belongs to my "favorites shelf". This is a very refreshing ya contemporary novel for everyone to read. I haven't read Pivot Point, but the author, Kasie West, beckoned me through this book to read more of her novels. This book won't make you sleep if you won't read it in one sitting. There is more than what the romance offers, this book has variety of moral lessons and real struggles in life.

The story starts off with a 17 year old Caymen, daughter of a doll shop, meeting an oozing hot but charming rich customer. Caymen has trust issues with rich people and drawing close to Xander isn't really what she planned for her life. Xander is different. Oh well, except for the fact that he is a total swoon-fest, he is a total rich ass who fears of failure. The common thing between them is that they don't know what really they want to do in the future. They help each other discover their true potential and passion. In between their fears and insecurities, they have to face a particular problem that made Caymen doubt Xander and let go of what she feels for him. Another thing that doesn't make things lighter is the secrets her mom is hiding from her. The rest is a freaking history(sorry I'm bad summarizing stories).

The characters are the highlight of this book. Caymen is the queen of sarcasm and humor. She is the strong-willed with exceptionally sarcastic attitude character, but a vulnerable daughter and a dainty teenager in love. I love her so much. I bet everyone will love her too. In spite of the challenges she still manages to joke around making things light. Xander is the oh so sweet guy, but sometimes his lack of response makes me iffy about his character. In the end he manages to make up for whatever mistake he made, and grow up to be a responsible but still irresistible, charming, swoon-fest guy. YEAH. There isn't a moment where I actually didn't laugh, but there was a scene that made tears pool in my eyes. ANGSTY!!! The witty banters among all the characters including the secondary characters are hilarious and very sarcastic. The dialogues aren't dull and boring.
"Let me guess, the dolls threatened to steal your soul if you didn't comply with their demands."
"No, they threatened to release the souls of past customers. We couldn't have that."
He laugh, which surprise me. I feel like I earned something not many others have, and I smile despite myself.
I felt like I was reading the storyline + script of a Korean drama, but this was better than I expected. One thing that really made me rate this 4.5, was the CRAVING part!! UGH!! The i-want-more-but-it's-just-a-stand-alone-book-so-sad feeling. I just feel like since it's only a stand alone book, the events are somehow crammed. SOMEHOW. Not entirely crammed. But over all, it's an awesome, refreshing, fun and captivating reading experience for me! A total worth recommending book!

This book will make you laugh, melt and fall in love all over again.

The werewolf who broke her heart when he chose his pack over her, and the half-fae who ran from their intense attraction before they ever really had a chance. For Kylie, everything will finally be revealed and nothing will ever be the same.

Review:
Hunter doesnt like to leave her characters brokenhearted and empty that's why I know she made a way for Derek to be happy with a new *special someone*

I'm a big ball of mess upon reading the last pages. I can't believe it ended... Shadow Falls series ended already....

I'm so not over yet this book, I'm very thrilled that I had the chance to read such amazing creation of an amazing author. *cries*

The characters are well described and they portrayed reality. I love how Perry and Miranda ended up together; Helen and Jonathan, well......for Della and Steven let's just wait for their own book *winks*

As of Kylie, well she's very brave. She irked me on the first three books but I started to love her genuine and pure heart. She will do anythign to save the people she love even if it takes her precious life

She is a very special girl with special gifts. She's a chameleon, a very rare yet wonderful kind of supernatural. Thank goodness she finally know what she is and what she is capable doing. She is brave, beautiful, loving and pure.

Now I know people are in the "I'm torn between two oozing hot men" And congrats to me cause on the third book I already know who she'll end up. *yay for me*

Derek, I really loved him ever since Kylie described him as a cute blondie and the only one normal in that bus. I really love how patient he was with Kylie but he's right, he would've had her if he didn't mess up a bit (but I'm not blaming him okay). He is so lovely that I really want him for Kylie (and Lucas for me). He was always the willing friend to help any supernatural in need. He was brave and courageous enough to admit that you are inlove with Kylie even if there's 95% chance that her feelings wont change towards Lucas. I'm glad you found the one that will be with you for the rest of your life, to love you completely, to love you with all her heart and to love you with all her life.

Don't even get em started with Lucas.......

Ok so I give up I really need to write something about him anyway...

Lucas, he was the creepy blu-eyed wolf that always gaze at Kylie. And to add more entertainment he is also a childhood friend. He is awe-inspiring in every way. I admit I kinda abhor him for keeping that arranged marriage but hey, because of that marriage there was an angst and additional conflict on the life of Kylie and it made the whole series exciting. I'm glad that he ended up with his one and only true soulmate. I want you to know, lucas, that you are also the one I rooted for #TeamLucas (i know that this team-team thingy is absurd but i dont really mind) He fought for his life and he opened the window towards a very wonderful end. He sacrificed well-enough for his everything, his life, his one and only soulmate. I'm captivated by your sexiness and charm (very tempting.. right, Kylie?)

For Holiday and Brunette, I'm very delighted with what you two end up. You deserve each other. And for the Junior, I hope he/she is as genuine, lovely, helpful, pure and not (always) scowling, protective (but not overprotective like your Daddy kidding)

The antagonist...erm okay you guys go in hell cause you are all a pain in the ass. But I can't believe Mario was defeated just like that. Anyways, you Jonh bastard, I'm always skeptical about you eversince!! You has this bad aura and it irks me damn much.

I love how this series roll to an end, though I wish for more pages. I will never get enough of this series. I love this series, this book. It made me laugh, scowl, hurt, smile and ugh/sigh. I'm always in a whirlpool of emotion. My heart is swelling from feels, blissful feels.

And the ghost, Lucinda is my fave ghost ever!!!
And oh! oh! my fave parts are those sword practices of Kylie and Lucas WAAAAH SQUEALS!!!!! "I love you" OMFFFFFFFFF

PS: I highly recommend this series!!
Read this in one sitting and I can truly say "it was worth it"

This series will always be in my heart ;__; Kudos C.C Hunter for a wonderful book, for a wonderful series.

Frigid
Author: J Lynn
Publish Date: 2013
Genre: NA, contemporary, romance
Rating: ★★

Synopsis:

For twenty-one-year-old Sydney, being in love with Kyler isn't anything new. They'd been best friends ever since he pushed her down on the playground and she made him eat a mud pie. Somewhere over the years, she fell for him and fell hard. The big problem with that? Kyler puts the 'man' in man-whore. He's never stayed with a girl longer than a few nights, and with it being their last year in college, Syd doesn't want to risk their friendship by declaring her love.

Kyler has always put Syd on a pedestal that was too high for him to reach. To him, she's perfect and she's everything. But the feelings he has for her, he's always hidden away or focused on any other female. After all, Kyler will always be the poor boy from the wrong side of tracks, and Syd will always be the one girl he can never have.

But when they're stranded together at a posh ski resort due to a massive Nor'easter, there's nothing stopping their red-hot feelings for each other from coming to the surface. Can their friendship survive the attraction? Better yet, can they survive at all? Because as the snow falls, someone is stalking them, and this ski trip may be a life-changer in more ways than one.

Review:
J lynn, sure knows how to make steamy scenes into blazing ones.

I admit that the mix reviews made me iffy, but I thought, why not give it a try. And so I read it. Well, the start was pretty "oh, bestfriends" and "oh, oozing hot guy bestfriend" and lastly "oh, a fucker". Syd and Kyler's relationship was a whirl of untold feelings and wrong assumptions. Syd thought Kyler has no hots for her because she isn't the kind of chic he'll take in for a night. Kyler thought that he isn't deserving for the too innocent Syd. Guess what happened? It took them years...years to admit to each other that they are madly, irrevocably and insanely inlove with each other.

I both liked and disliked the book. Maybe somewhere in between. I generally liked the "i am inlove with my bestfriend but I don't want to ruin our friendship and he isn't interested with me" storyline, but what messed up the whole concept was the scenes in between. Kyler became obsessive that kinda made me cringe and Sydney became too melodramatic for all I care. Just why guys, why. The half of the book was pretty good with the angst and sexual tension, but then it came into ruin in the latter part. I kept whining I am sorry

Tangled
Author: Emma Chase
Publish Date: 2013
Genre: NA, contemporary, romance
Rating: ★★★★

Synopsis:

Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?

He’ll tell you he has the flu.

But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything - or anyone - derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?

Can Drew Evans win at love?

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

Review:
“My mother always told me, “Anyone worth doing, is worth doing well.” Okay, she didn’t actually say those exact words, but you get the picture.”

Now I know where's the hype coming from!! Tangled is a very very fun and steamy read. The characters are all too adorable and hilarious especially the dearest narrator, Andrew Evans. For crying at loud, he is the ultimate show here. His comical and humorous narration gives all the hue to the story.
“Newsflash, ladies: We can’t read your thoughts. And frankly, I’m not entirely sure I’d want to. The female mind is a scary place to be.”

I felt like I was inside an AVR listening to an invisible speaker, and guess what the talk is about? WHAT GOES AROUND INSIDE A BOY'S MIND. But dude, the thins inside a guy's head is utterly scary - terrifying. I really like how creative, funny, comical, poetic, naughty, snide and swoon-worthy his character is. Drew Evans is a sure catch.

I SWEAR I WANT TO QUOTE EVERYTHING!!!!!!! EVERY FRIGGING THING.
“Well, then we’re a perfect fit, ’cause you’re a first-class bitch most of the time.”
Fire dances in her eyes as she raises her half-filled glass.
“Don’t you fucking dare. You throw that drink at me, I’m not responsible for what I do after.”
I’ll give you a minute to guess what she does...

I love Kate and her adamant character. She's intelligent and wise, but vulnerable and fragile. She is no one night stand kind of girl She settles for what the heart beats more than what the hormones rage. And she's also funny and a good dirty talker. I really imagine her as Miranda Kerr or Amanda Seyfried. Yup. Please prepare for A LOT of dirty and witty banters among ALL THE CHARACTERS. AS IN ALL. Even the secondary characters such as, Alexandra "The Bitch", her lovely OPEN-MINDED daughter, Steven, Matthew, Jack, Delora, Erin and etc. You will love them all. I swear.

AND ONE LAST THING BEFORE I'LL END THIS CRAPPY OH-SO-CALLED-REVIEW
THE NOTEBOOK. YUP THE NOTEBOOK!!!!!!!!!!! I love that movie and when Drew used that one scene from The Notebook, I think I want to jump off a friggin cliff. I love how they met, how they do stuffs (yeah u know exactly what I'm talking about), how they fight and all the angst, how they make up (which isnt the easiest BUT all worth it) and how they have a HEA.

Congrats Emma Chase for a catchy debut novel!

Review:

"This is bullshit," he said suddenly. "We're teeangers. We're supposed to be sarcastic."
"And preoccupied with sex," I chimed in.
"And impulsive," Noah added

Now this is what I call a saving glory!! The Unbecoming gave me a few disappointments, but this book made up what's missing on the first book. I just can't bring this down??!?!?

This is totally a mind-blowing book. The pieces were finally putting themselves together and I was just left speechless. Dumbfounded. I didn't see those coming!!!111 This book was fast-paced, not anymore confusing compare to the first, VERY INTRIGUING, creepy, FUNNY, still romantic (but this time it was more of the supernatural/creepy stuffs and haunting ex-boyfriend & past & dreams) and definitely a loose cannon!! Whenever something bad happens to Mara, I know it was Jude's, but there will always be more than meets the eyes. *wiggles eyebrows*

Michelle sort of lessened her descriptive writing. It wasn't as detailed as the first, and that made this book a little perplex. I just loved how things and events went well together. Every chapter's ending was a cliffhanger and breathtaking. Last time, I compared the Unbecoming to a wave, this time I'll still compare it but the difference is, the amplitude of the crest is higher than the amplitude of the trough. I'm sorry for my little Physics cameo, this is just contrary to all the scientific terms that were elaborated and introduced here. Eventhough they kept repeating the same scientific terms, I really can't get it!! And I won't try anymore.. Bio really hates me /shrugs/

Aside from awful Jude and his dreadful torture towards Mara, the other thing that really bugged me was THE. FREAKING. HAND-MADE. DOLL. I love dolls, but when a doll is LEERING at you..... I just----- And suddenly there were more people who were just like Mara and Noah. That surprised me a bit, but I was delighted when things fit into places.

The Characters. Umm.. I want to pat Michelle for developing her characters. The characters were now well-woven and much much much more better than before. I lost the count of how many times I laughed and burst out guffaws. Although 90% of the things here were spooky and shuddersome, the humor and wittiness STAYED!!!!! I love Daniel. He made me tear up! I love Jamie mooooooore!! I think he is my favorite character in this book.

"Perhaps because she is batshit crazy, Brooke."
Jamie slow-clapped.
"Jamie," Brooke said calmly. "I'm not sure that's productive."
"I was applauding Mara for her extraordinarily appropriate use of the term 'batshit crazy'."

I despise Dr. Kells for God-knows-what-reasons. I loathed Jude. I pitied Phoebe, but at the same time I want to smash her head with a baseball bat. I'm sorry, she gave the creeps.

And Noah... This almost perfect, arrogant, deadpan, gorgeous guy..

"I'm too selfish to leave you," I said.
Noah pulled back so I could see his smile. "I'm too selfish to let you"

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer
Author: Michelle Hodkins
Publish Date: 2011
Genre: YA, paranormal, fantasy, supernatural
Rating: ★★★★

Synopsis:
Mara Dyer doesn’t think life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.
It can.

She believes there must be more to the accident she can’t remember that killed her friends and left her mysteriously unharmed.
There is.

She doesn’t believe that after everything she’s been through, she can fall in love.
She’s wrong.

Review:
Confusion scattered all over my room while I was reading this. I was full of "Ha?" "What?" "How?" "Oh.." "..." "Ah.." "The fuck?" "OMG?????" "NOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAH" *insert squealing noises* "FREAK THIS IS CREEPY" "WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING"

This book is very unpredictable!! It was also so mysterious, creepy, weird, CONFUSING, intriguing, mind-blowing and heart-fluttering. Now I know the reason why so many people are heads over heels Noah freaking Shaw. He was the bomb here. I think I died everytime he utters a word. He was simply wonderful and gorgeous. And he alone can earn this book a 5 star, but of course he isn't the only one to consider.

The start of the book crept me out and I literally closed it for seconds. The Oija thingy is really creepy, don't judge me. LOL The storyline was so good. It wasn't predictable and palpable, and that brought the excitement in this book. I'm always craving for more. More.

Michelle's writing style is so good and appalling. She is very detailed in everything. Her descriptive style brought a lot of hue in the over all of the book. But one thing that disappointed me was the lack of CLIMAX. I kept wondering where will the climax come, until I'm on the last 30 pages of the book that I noticed it didn't have a climax. If this book is a wave, the amplitude of both crest and trough were just even.

I love Daniel so much. I wish I had a brother like him. I love Jamie, he is funny and just awesome. I love Mara's family except that I often despise her mom, I know it is motherly instinct but she was frealign me out!! I love Mara and her fatal power. I love..........Noah (let's not talk about him I might not end this coherently)

“Where are you going?”
“My God, you’re like the plague.”
“A masterfully crafted, powerfully understated, and epic parable of timeless moral resonance? Why, thank you. That’s one of the nicest things anyone’s ever said to me,” he said.
“The disease, Noah. Not the book.”
“I’m ignoring that qualification.”

The witty banters between Mara and Noah made me burst in chuckles and guffaws. But sometimes I noticed some of their conversation weren't relevant. Like those were going to no where.... And I like to mention there were some parts here that were dull and humdrum, but majority of the scenes held me on the edge of the cliff. Shisuz.

Overall, I love this book.

Bully
Author: Penelope Douglas
Publish Date: 2013
Genre: NA, romance, contemporary
Rating: ★★★★

Synopsis:
My name is Tate. He doesn't call me that, though. He would never refer to me so informally, if he referred to me at all.
We're neighbors, and once, we were best friends. But then, one summer, he turned on me and has made it his mission to screw up my life at every opportunity. I've been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got more sadistic as time wore on, and I made myself sick trying to hide from him. I worried about what was around every corner and behind every door.
So I left.
I spent a year studying abroad and bathed in the freedom of life without Jared. Now I'm back to finish up high school and get the hell out of here forever. I'm hoping that after a year of breathing room, he's moved on and forgotten all about me.
But even if he hasn't changed, I have. I'm not interested in avoiding him or turning the other cheek anymore. We're going to go head to head, because neither of us wants to back down.

Review:
PLAYS *MY HEART* BY PARAMORE

His shiny brown hair was a mess.
I loved that.
His chocolate eyes glowed with confidence and mischief.
I loved that.
His toned arms and chest just made me wonder what his skin felt like.
I loved that.
He made me forget how awful he was.
I hated that.

I would just like to point out that trust is worthier than any gold, silver or bronze in the world. It is a very big word that surpass the value of any material things.Bully, a debut new adult novel by Penelope Douglas. Since I'm dubious with the adult genre, reading this was like planting myself on the tip of a mountain. I know, I suck at this kind of books, but surprisingly, BULLY surpass my expectations and ease my ambiguous feeling. Although there were steamy scenes and a lot of ragign hormones scenes, I feel comfortable reading it, even my tummy tingles. CRAP. My iffiness was buried 6ft below the ground and was replaced by a turmoil of heart-fluttering emotions. In short: It didn't disappoint me. It was actually the kind of from childhood best friends to lovers to enemy to lovers story I want. Very refreshing, romantic, sort of angsty story.

First chapter: JARED WHY SO RUDE WHAT THE HELL?
And.....then when Tate came back from Europe and had this confrontation with Madock, I KNEW IT!!! JARED IS MADLY IN LOVE WITH HER. But, the question falls to: "But why is Jared extremely rude and ballsy towards Tate? Why? Why? Why?" So many things happened. Twists that makes the story very exciting. Confrontations and banters I truly commend the characters. DESPITE the 2 years of pure torment, THEIR BLISSFUL PAST AS BEST OF FRIENDS AND ALMOST LOVERS made second chance inevitable. If I was on Tate's shoes it would take me a looooooooooooot of time to stomach all Jared's sorry's. Being bullied is too painful - pure agony, especially if it's someone you freaking love turned the bully-mode button on. IT HURTS OKAY. IT HURTS. Jared suffered, so is Tate, but Tate.....her suffering is.....beyond the belt. But when Jared said all this heart-swelling words *SWOONS*
“Are you mine?” I asked as I wiped my tears.
He kissed the corners of my mouth softly, and I felt heat rise up my neck.
“Always have been,” he whispered against my mouth.
I love Tate's feisty and gatsby demeanor when she started fighting back, but at the same time I really love how vulnerable she is. Actually, I love how vulnerable both Jared and Tate when it comes to each other.
"You've already made me cry countless times." I raised my middle finger to him slowly, and asked, "Do you know what this is?" I took my middle finger and patted the corner of my eye with it. "It's me, wiping away the last tear you'll ever get."

A good refreshing book, but still I can't fathom why I'm giving it a 4 stars. There's an inner voice that whispered, "Something was lacking" I REALLY DONT KNOW. But overall, A MUST READ.

The Battle of the Labyrinth
Author: Rick Riordan
Publish Date: 2013
Genre: YA, paranormal, fantasy, supernatural, mythology
Rating: ★★★★

Synopsis:
Percy Jackson isn't expecting freshman orientation to be any fun. But when a mysterious mortal acquaintance appears on campus, followed by demon cheerleaders, things quickly move from bad to worse.
In this fourth installment of the blockbuster series, time is running out as war between the Olympians and the evil Titan lord Kronos draws near. Even the safe haven of Camp Half-Blood grows more vulnerable by the minute as Kronos's army prepares to invade its once impenetrable borders. To stop the invasion, Percy and his demigod friends must set out on a quest through the Labyrinth - a sprawling underground world with stunning surprises at every turn.

Review:
I need more Percy-Poseiodon-Tyson moment cries
I'm just curious of the title. (pls dont mind my illogical questions) Why is it titled, "The Battle of the Labyrinth" when the battle happened in Half-Camp Blood (okay I know thats so stupid of me to ask I need to omit myself from Earth bye)

Welcome to another thrilling adventure with Percy Jackson and his gang. I have to admit that it took me a while to finish this book because of my effin' college demands. That's the sad part, but on the other hand, the thing is, this book didn't disappoint me. Not at all. It was fast paced with enough action and adventure plus romance, reconciliation and acceptance. I loved how the quest was lead by Annabeth, she finally had her beyonce moment. I loved how the involvement of Rachel Dare added hue to the story. I loved how Tyson and Groover became cool friends. I loved Pan and his relevance. I loved how Percabeths kiss happened. I loved how the birthday party turned out to be a Poseidon-Percy moment. I loved how the prophecy mindfucked me. I love everything. Can I say more?

Percy is Percy. Annabeth is Annabeth. Tyson is Tyson. Kronos is Kronos. The gods are gods. Since The lightning Thief to this book, their characters were consistent that the character development wasn't much recognized and that's another reason why I loved it more. The characters were naturally flawed and imperfectly perfect. They are just fitting at their roled no need to ask for development. They weren't frustrating, unlike any other protagonists. (except percabeth's relationship GAHHH I WANT MORE)

The scene that sent shivers on me was [when Percy opened Kronos' tomb. JEEZ. Luke. Baby Luke. My Baby Luke. SOBS A RIVER . He's my fave antagonist, I both loved and abhor him. Maybe the love overshadows the abhor part.

Thought: Does Kasie West ever go wrong? I'm escalated that my first read for 2017 was a squee-filled one. This was utterly adorable. The main character, Lily, is a very witty person. It wasn't hard to love her and her family.
